Last month modelling agency Models Direct reported on teen models Kendall and Kylie Jenner – half-sisters of Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian – when the young models recently hit the headlines when they covered Teen Vogue’s March edition.

Now Kendall is back in the spotlight after a modelling shoot featuring Black Swan inspired and 1940s style swimsuits, bikinis and cover-ups by White Sands. Many are saying that at 16 years of age the model is far too young to be taking part in this type of shoot, where the items are clearly meant for adult wearers.

This isn’t the first time that Kendall has gained media attention for modelling bikinis, back in 2010 she was seen modelling in some brow raising bikini shots where she was also heavily made up with much emphasis on a sultry look. While the new pictures are stirring up further controversy they are certainly much tamer than those that she was seen in aged just 14. The costumes and cover-ups she wears for White Sands are far more delicate and feminine. Rather than the tousled beach hair that she sported in her 2010 bikini images the new pics show her in a far more feminine light, with flowers and feathers in her hair.

Designer Leah Madden said: “The collection has both an ethereal and strong side and we wanted a model that could capture both. As we were casting for the campaign we came across Kendall’s portfolio and loved her softness and strength. She actually made it to the top of our list before we knew her background!”
