Talent Management has just heard news that singer Geri Halliwell will perform at the evening show of the Breast Cancer Care fashion show in London on 3 October.
Geri, who has been a patron of the charity for 12 years, will treat the audience to some old favourites along with the first live performance of her aptly named new song ‘Phenomenal Woman’.
At the fashion show, Geri will join 24 inspiring men and women, who have all been affected by breast cancer, as they become models and conquer the catwalk: living proof that shows it’s possible to look and feel great after a diagnosis.
“I’m so excited. What an honour to be performing at the Breast Cancer Care fashion show,” said Geri.
The models will be styled by fashion correspondent Hilary Alexander alongside London Fashion Week coordinator Lesley Goring. They will model a fabulous range of designer clothing from fashion’s elite including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, as well as high street outfits.
All the money raised will help Breast Cancer Care to be there for the 50,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Last year, the fashion show 2011 raised half a million pounds to enable Breast Cancer Care to provide expert information, and professional support and advice when it’s needed most.
Two of the 24 models from the 2011 show, who were all aged between 27-75 years, revealed what it was like modelling at the event.
Debbie Hull said: “It was one of the most uplifting and inspiring things I’ve ever done and I feel honoured to have been part of it.”
Male model Dave Abbett said: “I’ve gained confidence and joy through the photoshoots, interviews, TV appearances and of course the magnificent show itself. It was an absolute pleasure to share those moments with Mark and all the lovely 22 ladies who took part… I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be part of the experience and it is certainly going to remain in my very best memories for the rest of my life.”
Talent Management is delighted to see real models being featured at this prestigious event and believes that it sends a healthy message, not only to those who have been affected by breast cancer but also to those who, like us, believe that all shapes, ages and sizes should be celebrated and represented by the modelling industry.
