As a modelling agency with over 20 years in the business, it’s not often we’re shocked. We’ve seen it all, from a male model fronting a bra campaign to a transgender model being crowned Miss Congeniality, but when we flipped the pages of Candy Magazine #4, we saw something that made even our eyes widen – a pregnant male model in bondage.
Candy Magazine Shocks With Pregnant Male Model…In Bondage!
Yes, you read right. Seeing male models, pregnancy and bondage in one image, did we mention there are also guns, most certainly ventures into some super controversial territory. But we have to hand it to photographer Steven Klein and stylist Patti Wilson, this feature, named ‘Baby Boom’, has really made an impact among a sea of bland fashion imagery featuring skinny models in pretty dresses.
Sure, we’ve always known trans-friendly Candy Magazine is used to pushing gender boundaries, and any other boundary they find, but we’re almost positive this spread is the first-ever fashion shoot to feature a pregnant male model.
Well, when we say pregnant male model, we’re pretty sure the model in the images, Chris Fawcett, isn’t another Thomas Beattie. We’re guessing he’s been either styled with a prosthetic bump, or has had his pregnancy curves digitally added post-production – either way it’s a visually intense and provocative shoot that we were intrigued by.
