Talent Management’s Mature Models Bag Photographic Work For Comfomatic Shoot
British adjustable bed company Comfomatic recently returned to the model bookers here at Talent Management looking for mature models for their latest photoshoot.
Having booked our models several times over the past couple of years, the company was confident that Talent Management would deliver when it came to needing models that are often few and far between at modelling agencies; the 50+.
Comfomatic’s photographic assignment, which was set at a beautiful 19C former vicarage called Bradgate Manor, situated in a country village near Southampton, required three female models and one male model aged between 50-70.
Being such a diverse modelling agency, Talent Management’s models range from newborn babies right through to seniors, so the team were quickly able to send over a great selection for Comfomatic to choose from.
Of the selection put forward, our mature models Susie (59), Pauline (64), Karen (60) and Gordon (67) were the lucky chosen ones.
Availability checked and all four models were booked in for the shoot. Before the assignment, the models were briefed and asked to prepare by arriving on set with clean, neat and tidy hair. The client also made a special request that the models brought their own nightwear/pyjamas, a dressing gown and slippers along to the job, helping portray a natural and ‘real’ look to the images.
On the day of the shoot, which kicked off at 10.30am and fished up at 4.00pm, all went smoothly and our models had fun posing in bed and helping to showcase the benefits of the firm’s range through both stills and video.
A couple of days after, we caught up with our models, who all earned an impressive modelling fee of £234.00 for the day, and found out how they found the experience.
Our oldest female model booked for the job, Pauline, told us how uplifting she found the day: “This was my first experience of modelling, and, although I was a little nervous at first, I was soon put at ease by the other, more experienced models, and the film crew, who were very professional. I decided to join Talent Management, not just to boost my income, but to broaden my horizons – and it was fun! I actually enjoyed doing the shoot, which was filmed with me in a Comfomatic bed, both sat upright and led down ‘asleep’. The bed was actually so comfortable I could have easily fallen asleep! I now have the confidence to pursue this line of work and update my portfolio, which I have neglected to do to date, therefore I haven’t really promoted myself. This will now change as I would like to do more as it was quite uplifting, and the money was good!
Susie, however, wasn’t nervous at all, with this modelling job being one of many: “As a professional model undertaking many jobs in many locations, I was not nervous before this shoot because I relied on my experience and professionalism. The assignment involved being filmed 1) at the front door of the house welcoming the bed fitter, and 2) in twin bed with a male model, reading magazines, pretending to be asleep, using the controls on the electrically operated bed. Each job brings a new experience, and of course, confidence comes from knowing that one is doing a great job. Would I recommend the experience to others? Yes, if they are comfortable with the camera, and prepared to put the work in beforehand, have huge amounts of patience, and understand that there is a lot of hanging around on the shoot day.”
Our model Karen also enjoyed the day and obviously impressed our client, as this assignment was her second with Comfomatic: “I enjoyed my second assignment with Comfomatic very much, and I was delighted to be chosen again, with the possibility of more bookings in the future. As usual there was a warm welcome from the crew. I think the thing I enjoyed most was being told that the shoot was the best they had done and that they were very pleased with me. I learned to make my movements precise and to acknowledge timing for different aspects of the video. I think modelling is fun, but you must arrive prepared with at least two or three clothing options and be immaculately presented, to be successful. I chose Talent Management because of their diversity in representing all ages and types of people.”
The oldest of the group, male model Gordon, seemed to enjoy shaking up the routine: “For this Comfomatic shoot with Models Direct I was photographed in pyjamas in a double bed, with my ‘wife’, while reading a magazine, with the bed variously elevated both top and bottom, and when I was ‘asleep’. The photographer knew what she wanted. All-in-all certainly different from the ‘routine’ and not an unenjoyable day.”
Well done to all our models for another great shoot, and especially to Karen for bagging a repeat booking!
