Is there anything Lily Cole can’t do? Leading agency Models Direct just found out that the multi-talented model and actress has been snapped up to present a six-part Sky Arts series Lily Cole’s Art Matters and we can’t wait to see it!

Models and booking agents in our offices were suitably impressed last year when we heard that Cole had managed to earn a double-first for History of Art at the highly respected University of Cambridge. Now she will get the opportunity to put her her new-found knowledge to good use when interviewing artists such as Gabriel Orozco on the Sky Arts programme.

Previously the beautiful red-haired 23-year-old has gained credibility not only as a supermodel but also as an actor. She received very complimentary reviews for her performance as Valentina in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, including one from Ryan Michael Painter of inthisweek.com where he commented:

“All of the performances are delightful, particularly Cole’s as Valentina, proving that the haute couture model has more to offer this world than a pretty face.”

Terry Gilliam, director of the film, mirrored this view when he said: “She has an amazing look and grasps what is required so very quickly. If she wants a career as an actress, she has a brilliant future.”

Up coming film appearances include one as Rose in Snow White & The Huntsman, which we are particularly excited about seeing this summer, but you’ll have to wait until the autumn to catch the 23-year-old take on her latest venture as a television presenter.

If Sky Arts director James Hunt’s opinion is anything to go by the show should be worth waiting for: “We are confident that this series will offer our customers what we believe is a very different and unique opportunity to get up close and personal to some of the most intriguing, controversial and ground-breaking contemporary artists.”
