Talent Management is happy to hear that our favourite Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen has just been announced as the winner of the first ever Best International Green and Responsible Celebrity Award at the International Green Awards.

The leggy stunner beat some impressive nominees including Sir Paul McCartney and Miguel Bose, as the public voted overwhelmingly for the model through an online competition.

Bündchen thanked the public for their support in a video acceptance speech, while encouraging everyone to help protect the rainforest.

“I am blessed to have grown up in a family that embraced the importance of nature and community coexisting in harmony. My career in the public eye has given me the opportunity to raise awareness about important socio-environmental causes in hopes of promoting a more conscious relationship with our environment,” said Bündchen.

According to the International Green Awards, Gisele’s interest in green issues began when she witnessed the effects of deforestation and water pollution in the Xingu River.

Today, she is Goodwill Environmental Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP, and has actively campaigned for a number of issues. As well as creating her own green blog and designing a reusable water bottle and a footwear range to raise awareness, the model has even lent her look to an ecological cartoon named ‘Gisele & the Green Team’.

We love that Bündchen uses her modelling fame for good and shares her environmental passion in all aspects of her life. This award is well deserved!
