Models Direct is happy to hear that some of our favourite modelling heavyweights have lent their much sought after time to star in an extraordinary ‘gender-bending’ commercial to help in the fight against AIDS.

The commercial will be supporting Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and their annual event, Fashion Forward presented by Bank of America, which will be held on November 17 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Featuring Andrej Pejic, who was recently dubbed “The Prettiest Boy in the World” on the cover of New York Magazine’s Fashion Issue; Brazilian transgender model Lea T, Givenchy’s infamous muse; plus size model turned straight model Crystal Renn; and Travis Cannato, the model currently starring in Theirry Mugler’s controversial campaign video ‘Brothers of Arcadia’, this is not a commercial we’re planning on switching over for. Joined by Janeil Williams, Zeb Ringle, Hannelore, Hanne Gabby, Sky Ferreira, Armando Cabral and Jenny Shimizu, these 11 models represent some of the most diverse yet quintessential faces known to the modelling industry.

As we’re sure you’ve guessed, the diversity of the casting was no accident – these select models beautifully showcase the social complexities and range of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community.

The video will air in the US on ABC-7 starting the week of October 23rd, but we’re sure it will sneak its way onto Youtube soon enough for all of our UK residents!
