You see plenty of celebrities’ children featured in ad campaigns or fashion shows, but among the current crop of top models are several whose mothers are not just famous, but are famous specifically for modelling. This lucky bunch of celebrity offspring have inherited their model mums’ genes; many bear a strong resemblance to their famous parents, helping them stand out in this competitive industry.
Talent Management has curated a list of some of today’s hot models, who have their parents’ to thank for passing down some enviable good looks.
Yasmin Le Bon and Amber Le Bon
Amber Le Bon is the 25-year old daughter of British model Yasmin and Duran Duran frontman Simon. She is the eldest of the couple’s three daughters, all of whom bear a striking resemblance to their famous mum. Amber has worked with some impressive brands, including high street chains River Island and Forever 21 and Italian design house Moschino. She’s also worked with international beauty brands, such as Pantene. Her list of clients may not yet be quite as impressive as Yasmin’s, but it doesn’t look as though she’ll have any trouble matching her mum’s success in the modelling world over the coming years. Yasmin also still models and has enjoyed a continuously high profile career, working with top names such as Chanel, Versace and Dior over the decades.
Kim Basinger and Ireland Baldwin
Although Kim Basinger is best known today as a successful Hollywood actress, starring in blockbusters such as LA Confidential, she started her showbusiness career as a model. She appeared in many adverts during her modelling days, but later admitted she didn’t particularly enjoy her time in the industry. Ireland was born in 1995 to Kim and her then-husband, actor Alec Baldwin. Standing at a striking 6 ft 2 in, Ireland has been making waves in the modelling world since her first photo shoot in 2013. Thus far, she’s been photographed by big names such as Patrick Demarchelier, Thomas Whiteside and Bruce Weber. She’s been touted as one of the faces to watch and is sure to have a stellar career ahead of her.
Patti Hansen and Alexandra and Theodora Richards
Patti Hansen was a wildly successful model when she became Mrs. Keith Richards in 1983. She appeared in glossy magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and fronted campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein. Her modelling genes have been passed on to not just one but two stunning daughters. Theodora (aged 30) and Alexandra (28) have both enjoyed strong modelling careers, although Alexandra has perhaps been the most commercially successful of the two. Patti, Alexandra and Theodora all modelled together in a campaign for Guerlain’s perfume, Shalimar Light, in 2004.
Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber
Although she’s just 13 years old, Kaia Gerber is showing signs of being every bit as successful (and level-headed) as her famous mum. Cindy is often considered to be one of the original supermodels and was the highest paid model in the world at the height of her fame. Her career spanned both high fashion and more commercial campaigns and she still models occasionally today, despite officially retiring in 2000. Kaia has already started to follow in Cindy’s footsteps, with an impressive list of photoshoots under her belt. She’s so far worked with Teen Vogue, among others, and her pictures have led to comments on her close resemblance to her mother at around the same age. Boasting the same lustrous brunette locks and classic good looks, Kaia is certainly her mother’s daughter.
Jerry Hall and Georgia May Jagger and Elizabeth Jagger
Like the Richards sisters, Georgia and Elizabeth are rock royalty. The daughters of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, the two sisters followed their Texan mum into modelling in their teens. Jerry was one of the most famous models in the world in the 1970s, and was already a financially successful businesswoman when she met Mick. The couple went on to have four children. Elizabeth (or Lizzy), now 31, cut her fashion teeth early, first appearing on the catwalk in 1998, alongside Jerry. In addition to appearing in ads for names such as Lancôme, Lizzy has also appeared in music videos and fashion shows. Younger sister Georgia May (23) has so far worked with an impressive selection of designers, including Chanel, Versace, Vivienne Westwood and Miu Miu, as well as several high street labels and beauty brands. Along with the Richards sisters, the Jaggers appeared in a Tommy Hilfiger campaign in the year 2000. Half-sister Jade, the daughter of Mick and Nicaraguan model Bianca also spent time working as a model in her youth.
Of course, you don’t need to be the offspring of models to have a rewarding career in child modeling. Curious about whether you’re the right fit for one of the many modelling gigs out there? Call a reputable modelling agency like Talent Management to find out today.
