Along with transgender model Lea T, the very feminine looking Andrej Pejic has undoubtedly become one of the key protagonists in the rising ‘gender trend’ this year.

Ever since he made his opening appearance as a female model in Gaultier’s spring/summer 2011 collection back in October last year, followed by an appearance as Gaultier’s ‘bride’ during couture season, he has shot to fame.

But should this Serbian Australian model be worried about his competition – the original poster boy for androgyny, Givenchy muse Lea T? Pejic thinks not.

“When it comes to our professional lives, well she only does womenswear and I think I cover more fields,” he told Vogue.com.

“Some people in the industry will use us in a very similar way to represent similar ideas and some will want me to be a bit different from her – more androgynous, more boyish or even sex-less rather than womanly. I think professionally I am capable of being very versatile.”

We at Talent Management know all too well the power of versatility in modelling, so look forward to seeing Pejic continue on his successful career path as a model.
