56-Year-Old Models For Eyelash Brand…Seems Strange But We’ll Go With It!
Talent Management just heard news that leading eyelash brand AH Francis has booked 56-year-old model and actress Mirella D’Angelo to front their latest line.
At first, we thought this sounded a little strange…a woman nearing 60 posing in falsies? But upon closer inspection, we realised D’Angelo will be featured as the face of Grown up Glamour Lashes; a new line of lashes that have been created in response to the rising power of the mature woman.
“I decided to use a beautiful mature model as the face of this brand – the glamorous Mirella D’Angelo who is one of Hollywood’s iconic and leading ladies. If you’re not actively targeting this market, you’re missing out,” said the company’s founder and CEO Alison Francis.
“I want to capitalise on that heritage and talk to our core customer. We are all seeking to enhance our beauty as we age without resorting to invasive procedures. AH Francis eyelashes offer a subtle and elegant way to refresh the eyes. As a 40+ lady myself, I did not see the brand represented by images of young models. I decided to go against the cosmetic house norm and photograph a beautiful mature lady.”
The range will launch in November 2012 and will see a fresh interpretation for contemporary eyelashes. “AH Francis is all about classic beauty and sophistication. We cater for salons looking to provide a service to women who want to look elegant and ageless. We strive to train therapists to provide consultations which will enable them to create the right eyelash effect for every client,” Francis added.
Known for her role as Livia in the cult film Caligula, we think D’Angelo, whose look perfectly reflects the grown up attitude – modern, stylish and completely feminine – is a great fit for this line.
“It is a pleasure to collaborate with AH Francis and I am honoured to represent the company,” the model said. “Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind so women should take care of themselves, be their own best friends and embrace life with all its challenges.”
The new AH Francis advertising campaign will be supported by print advertising in consumer and trade magazines from November 2012.
