These days, a regular exercise routine and a personal trainer are all it takes. That and bags of motivation and will power. Increasingly, more male models are interested in health and fitness. This is not surprising as the best male modeling jobs go to the fittest men. It is survival of the fittest.
There is no easy and quick way for you to get in good shape, but be motivated by the health benefits you will gain, not just the aesthetic benefit. You must be prepared to put in the time and effort to achieve the desired results. A combination of a healthy diet, strength training and cardiovascular exercises will go a long way towards your overall fitness.
Record Everything
You want to write down what you are doing in your exercise routine so you can see how you are progressing. First, write down your weight loss goal, your strength goal. Then write down each exercise for your exercise routine and how long you could go for each time. But remember, you are not a body builder so don’t become a gym rat or take steroids.
Prepare Mentally and Physically
Make sure you include weight lifting three times a week in your routine but also focus on other models what they are doing. Find out how other models succeed in male modelling. This will help you to get the best results from your training sessions and photo shoots. As you weight lift three, maybe four times per week, you muscles have time to increase and rebuild. If you don’t continue to push those muscles, and don’t forget to let your muscles rest.
Eat well and have lots of protein
Men need more food than women. If you plan on being a fitness model, you need to beef up more than the average model. When compared to women, it is much easier for men to lose weight. Men’s health and fitness programs always recommend protein to grow your muscles and to help you recover.
If possible, try to eat around an hour after a rigorous workout because your body will need some high-quality protein to recover fully. Build your muscles by breaking down amino acids. The best way to do this is by adding proteins. You can have a protein shake, a chicken breast, or maybe some eggs to add protein.
Working out will also give you increased confidence and set you apart from models who do not put in as much effort. Don’t be outshone during your big audition; come prepared with months of training in advance.
