Here at Models Direct we are big fans of the gorgeous and talented actor Colin Farrell. He has become known for some brilliant performances in films such as In Bruges, Alexander and the more recent Horrible Bosses and Seven Psychopaths.

The 37-year-old has played a diverse range of characters over the years and proven his skill as an actor in genres from thriller to comedy. But who knew about Farrell’s modelling past? We had no idea until we spotted a story about it on Gay Star News this week!

It appears to be no accident that most of us have never seen this image resulting from a “20 dollar” shoot before now. It shows the heart throb as a teenager with a bad hair cut, in an unfortunate outfit and, though he took it in good humour, Farrell didn’t exactly seem proud when Jay Leno asked Naomi Campbell to review the black and white shot live on ‘The Tonight Show’ this week.

“It’s kind of an old fashioned type of swimsuit, it’s erm, you know, it’s err, not showing too much…” she said cautiously, before adding, “The stance was not good Colin, it really wasn’t.”

Farrell agreed: “It’s wrong in so many ways we just don’t have time. Seriously, god bless me, I was 17, it was 20 dollars, what are you going to do?”

Campbell finally blurted out “love your legs” and exploded into laughter but Farrell didn’t seem too ruffled or surprised by this reaction.

There is certainly no doubt that it’s not the most flattering image that we’ve seen the Irish star appear in, but we love him anyway and we can’t wait to check out his new film, Dead Man Down.
