Having just checked out Ralph Lauren’s latest campaign images, we were pleasantly surprised to see plus-size model Robyn Lawley fronting the line!

Much to our delight, the Aussie model, who is a UK size 16, is the first EVER plus-size model for Ralph Lauren!

Talent Management has been fans of the statuesque 6’2 model ever since she covered Vogue Italia’s July issue ‘Real Beauties’ last year, and we’re not the only ones. The 23-year-old has been an inspiration to the plus-size models here at the agency too, and it’s easy to see why.

Lawley, who’s also modelled for French Elle, Vogue Paris and Australian Vogue, has admitted spending much of her adolescence obsessing over her weight. Back in 2011, she told Fabulous Magazine: “I stumbled across pro-anorexia websites and scoured them for tips. I began starving myself and making myself sick after meals. My mum Jane was concerned but she had no idea how serious the problem was. Plus, I became an expert at lying.” However, having battled her body image demons, she has learnt to embrace her stunningly curvaceous figure.

Now, the model is determined help diversify body shapes represented in the industry and support healthy body image in women.

While a big slice of the industry may still book super skinny models, Lawley demonstrates of the potential success a plus-size model can have. When announcing the new modelling job on Good Morning America, she said: “There are so many plus-size models in New York doing so well at the moment, and it’s only going to get better.”

Pro-body diversity model agency Talent Management certainly hopes so.
