I Want Candy…But Not For £2.5k!
Prada may think their giant bottle of Candy perfume is set to be the next big thing… quite literally…but the team at Talent Management think this is excess gone mad.
Set to launch exclusively in Selfridges from December 3, the supersized Candy Deluxe Edition holds 900ml of perfume, priced at a cool £2,500.
That’s over £138 per 50ml, which you can buy in a rather more modestly-proportioned bottle for just £53.
One might think that buying in bulk would be value for money, but this is Prada after all. So, if you really do fancy a giant bottle taking over your dresser, then not only do you need to start making room, but you’ll have to start saving.
The giant version, for extreme perfume fans only, is presented in a leather case in the same pink and gold packaging as its smaller counterpart.
Taking extremity as a starting point for new ideas, Prada Candy initially launched in 2011 from a desire to push things to the maximum, and to create totally new, unexpected and optimistic concepts.
Well, they certainly have pushed thing to the maximum, but while Vogue UK say there’s something “deliciously decadent” about this, we’re not so sure.
