Pledge For Cat Calendar, Because “Let’s Face It, Cat Models Cost A Fortune!”
Back in May, the Talent Management bloggers told you all that United Bamboo began casting cat models for their 2013 cat calendar – you know, the famous calendar that features cats in miniature replica United Bamboo collection runway outfits.
The women’s ready-to-wear label may have skipped 2012 – we’re not sure why – but, having created 2010 and 2011 editions, the cats in clothes are back, with all of 2013′s calendar cats photographed and ready for print… and this time around, they’re taking the whole cat calendar thing a little further.
“It was originally meant to be a promotional item and everyone wanted one. In 2010 we took it a little more seriously and made it as an official product which had an overwhelmingly positive response,” said the company.
“Due to popular demand, we decided to fully embrace the idea of photographing cats in miniature replica runway collection outfits, except this time, spin it off as its own brand called Catclub by United Bamboo. Catclub will be products with pictures of cats wearing United Bamboo. There will be many more products in the future and they will be all designed with serious intention and commitment to quality.”
And in order to fund these new cat model products, United Bamboo just launched a Kickstarter project, because “let’s face it. Cat models cost a fortune!”, as the guy in the video says!
“The reason we decided on using Kickstarter is because we are treating this as a project for now,” said Thuy Pham, United Bamboo designer. “I’m hoping people will like it enough to support it. If I get support, I’m going to expand this project into other projects. I also like the format of the Kickstarter video. It allows us to describe the project in creative ways.”
So what do you get if you support them?
A pledge of $10 or more will get you a copy of the 2013 poster, $15 a magnet, $25 a magnet and a poster, $40 a calendar, and $60 you all three. And if you really love cats and have a spare $1,200, you can get a cat light box!
Watch the video above and head over to United Bamboo‘s Kickstarter Page if you’re as crazy about cat models as we are!
