Designer & Bald Model Fan Ji Cheng Returns To The London Catwalk
One of China’s most prominent fashion designers Ji Cheng took the audience by storm with her 2012 A/W collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout earlier this year.
Not only did Talent Management love the simple, clean-cut collection, entitled ‘Zen Awakening’, but we were also big fans of the model choices, more specifically the bald headed key model who surprised us all the moment she stepped onto the catwalk.
While we thought that the model’s lack of hair, slow pace and blank stare perhaps referenced the monks that Ji Cheng was influenced by, the designer said: “There is no special implication of the bald head. I just thought it could best interpret the Zen theme.”
Having made such a great impression last season, we were happy to hear that the influential designer is returning to the London catwalk.
A top billed designer at Shanghai Fashion Week, Singapore Fashion Week and China Fashion Week, Ji Cheng is a regular in Vogue China, ELLE China, Harper’s Bazaar China, she is one of the most exciting international designers to come to the London catwalk.
Ji Cheng will be showing her spring/summer 2013 collection, Teasim, at Vauxhall Fashion Scout on Saturday the 15th of September at 1:00pm, and we for one can’t wait to see the model choices this time around!
