Model Maria Bradley Shot In Slow Motion For Melissa + Pedro Lourenço Video
While some may think modelling simply involves standing in front of a camera for stills shoots, this serene and provocative video proves otherwise.
To launch the collaboration between Brazilian shoemakers Melissa and designer Pedro Lourenço, Philip Andelman – the man responsible for video clips, photo editorials and documentaries in the music industry –created this stunning fashion film.
Presenting Lourenço’s Resort 2013 collection and the Melissa Nº 1 shoe, created by the designer in partnership with Melissa, he shot fascinating model Maria Bradley in slow motion.
Starred in by super divas like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, plus überbands such as The Gossip, The Kills and Scissor Sisters, Adelman’s music videos are always energetic and poetic, and this one is no different.
But as well as giving kudos to the filmmaker, the team at Talent Management are also impressed with Maria’s modelling efforts. Representing the different women pictured by the designer, the model channels youth, sportiness, urbanity and femininity.
And, although shot in slow motion and looking as though she’s floating, Maria’s movements are still full of energy and precision – a duality we imagine is hard to execute so well having noted an array of skewed faces in the Olympics slow-mo retakes this week!
