Models Direct has just seen pictures of the striking model Tara Nowy and we have to admit that we can see why she was recently nominated Scottish Model of the Year.

According to reports Tara first decided that she wanted to become a model when she was just 15 years old. Six years on, the daughter of Marillion frontman ‘Fish’ appears to be doing well in her chosen career path.

Tara was signed up to a modelling agency two years ago and has since been photographed for brands such as Estee Lauder and Urban Outfitters. She has also covered French Vogue. Now Tara – the latest in a run of models with famous parents – looks set to take the crown of Scottish Model of the Year at the awards next week.

She told the Daily Mail in a recent interview: “I only found out two weeks ago that I had been nominated when my mum Skyped me while I was doing a job in Dubai. I’m extremely nervous but I’m really looking forward to it and happy to be nominated which means I am in the company of some great models! The awards should be fun because I know most of the people who will be going so it will be a great party.”

Speaking about his daughter’s modelling career, Fish told the Daily Mail: “When she first told me she wanted to be a model I was apprehensive. From my experience of the industry it is a very tough business and a lot of the people are egotistical and shallow but Tara doesn’t let any of that faze her. I’m biased because I’m her dad but she’s a very beautiful woman and she’s also very intelligent and hard working.”

Tara told reporters that her dad jokes that she gets all the attention now: “I told him he’s been there and done it. It’s my turn now.”
