Former Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model contestant, Charlotte Holmes has just been crowned Miss England 2012!

The team at Talent Management vividly remember the natural beauty from 2010’s cycle of the cult modelling competition. Although she only came forth, Holmes stood out to us as having a health, well-proportioned figure and beaming grin, despite being told by judges she was too heavy.

While this was her third attempt for the crown of Miss England, Holmes, who represented Devon, can now have the last laugh having come top in a competition that appreciates a healthily looking body image.

The pageant model said on winning Miss England: “I am so proud and privileged to win the crown and my ambition during my reign is to show young people that they can achieve if they put their mind and soul into their ambition”.

As well as the emotion of winning the crown, the fact that Holmes will be jetting off to Mauritius today as a part of her prize has also stirred up feelings – the trip will hold a special meaning as her Grandmother was from Mauritius and this will be her first visit to the country.

Angie Beasley, Managing Director of Miss England said: “Charlotte is going to be a fantastic Miss England, she is a very beautiful girl with a vibrant personality and a passion for life and will be an amazing ambassador for England.”

The two runners up were Miss North Yorkshire, Anastasia Smith in second place and Miss Sunderland, Tamzin Cummings in third place.

On entering the competition this year, Holmes explained why she was competing again: “I would like to be involved in the Miss England organisation again this year because I feel that the whole organisation is a fantastic way to celebrate inspirational, ambitious, young women. It has already proven a fantastic way of meeting new, like minded friends with similar hobbies, interests and values in life and I hope this year shall be no different.”

Holmes will now go on to compete in Miss World 2012 in August, which will be the 62nd edition of the Miss World pageant and will be held in Inner Mongolia, China. Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela will crown her successor at the end of the event.
