Find out why we were happy to see 42-year-old Rachel Weisz on the cover of British Vogue’s annual ‘Ageless Style’ issue this month.
42-Year-Old Models For British Vogue’s ‘Ageless Style’ Cover
As anyone who reads the Talent Management Blog will know by now, the team at the modelling agency loves to see age diversity in the industry. And, having just sent a group of our mature models out on a job for Comformatic and a selection of our teens out on a job for the National Sporting Club, we know that a wide age range is common place in commercial modelling, but it’s also nice to see that diversity reflected in fashion modelling too.
That’s why we were happy to see 42-year-old Rachel Weisz on the cover of British Vogue’s annual ‘Ageless Style’ issue this month.
It seems the actress and former fashion model, who started modelling when she was just fourteen, still has a knack for posing and looks stunning in a super age-appropriate royal blue Celine knit.
We’re all in agreement here at the agency, Weisz, who always looks effortlessly demure without being boring, makes the perfect choice to represent ‘Ageless Style’, and long-time Vogue photographer Alasdair McLellan has done a great job of capturing that.
However, while we love seeing an older model cover a magazine, it’s a shame occurrences like this are reserved for age-themed issues, much like how plus-sized models are set aside for the size issues.
Let Talent Management know what you think – would you like to see older models take common place in magazines that aren’t trying to make a point?
