Our Favourite M&S Models Are Back To Kick Start Britain’s Summer
From child models to a mix of Britain’s much-loved lived in faces, the team at Talent Management are in agreement – M&S’ brand new summer advertising campaign not demonstrates great model diversity, but has got us in the mood for summer.
Alongside some ultra-cute kids, fashion model and presenter Lisa Snowdon makes her M&S return in the ad, as do familiar faces from the music scene Myleene Klass and Dannii Minogue, black model Noemie Lenoir, male model in the making Jamie Redknapp, and of course, our all time favourite M&S model Twiggy, who’s still working the camera at an unbelievable 62!
In the TV ad, dubbed the ‘Summer To Remember’, the gang are seen enjoying a selection of quintessentially British pastimes – from a traditional egg and spoon race to a game of garden tennis. The ad wraps up with a bonfire sing-a-long, which is an exclusively recorded cover of the George Harrison summer classic, Here Comes The Sun, sung by none other than Gary Barlow.
Steve Sharp, Executive Director of Marketing at M&S, said: “It’s going to be the summer of a lifetime for our customers and we want to do something extra special to mark this celebratory year. Just like the Royal Family and our sporting heroes, M&S triggers a unique reaction in the hearts and minds of the British public and this campaign really encapsulates that sense of fondness and nostalgia.”
Star of the campaign Gary Barlow added: “It’s great to be back with M&S and it’s real a privilege to cover such an iconic track. You can’t better perfection but I hope we’ve given it a modern twist that will capture the mood of the nation and provide the perfect anthem for summer 2012.”
Talent Management loves this nostalgic lazy summer day ad, which seems to be all about families and friends of all ages celebrating the British summer, which we all now can’t wait for!
