Bloggers at Models Direct have just seen pictures of the latest in a run of celebrities to pose nude while pregnant. Brazilian ‘Victoria’s Secret’ model, Alessandra Ambrosio appears in the images – which are advertising Vivara jewellery – completely naked, just one month before her due date. Of course she looks her usual stunning self.

At eight months pregnant many mums to be will lack confidence and feel self-conscious about their changing body, but not Alessandra who insists that she has never felt more confident: “A nude photo-shoot was good, because pregnancy makes me much more confident. I’m proud of my body to be generating a life. I wasn’t ashamed to do a nude shoot for two of my favourite photographers. I’m happy to have one of the most important moments of my life recorded by them.”

We love the attitude of this 31-year-old supermodel, though of course many women – when heavily pregnant with their second child – would not share such amazing confidence. Would you consider modelling nude while eight months pregnant?

Alessandra made it to No. 5 on the list of the world’s best paid models last year, with a salary of $5 million, and she intends to get back to work soon, with post-baby bookings already lined up. She told reporters at the Daily Mail: “I already have jobs planned for afterwards so hopefully will be back in shape. I told my booker and my manager; ‘I know I have a job to do, so just book the jobs and hopefully it’ll be fine.’

“I only have a few more jobs to do before I have the baby – all editorial, no more catwalk now – and then I hope to be back in London for the opening of the Victoria’s Secret store in July. I should definitely be back for the next Victoria’s Secret show – I have quite a while until then.”

Alessandra obviously predicts that she will be back to her former shape within weeks of her son’s birth since he is due mid June. Meanwhile, though admittedly a little enviously, Models Direct sincerely wishes her all the best.
