Naked Models Raise Eyebrows At London Fashion Week!
Milliner Robyn Coles’ ensured that her hat collection gained plenty of attention during London Fashion Week when she sent her models down the runway on Tuesday wearing nothing but the designer head-wear that she wished to showcase at the event!
Models Direct hear that the naked catwalk show was held at the White Rabbit Studio in Shoreditch, London, and featured five nude models including actor and comedian Jeff Leach and a heavily pregnant former Miss Wales, Sophia Cahill.
“As an unknown designer you have to find ways of getting people to your show.” Coles told the Daily Mail. Regarding her decision to feature a pregnant model at the show she said: “I thought it would be nice that (Sophia) would be pregnant for the show. You never see that kind of thing in fashion. I wanted to use different models and different sizes. I’m a big believer in that. With accessories like hats it doesn’t matter what size or shape you are.”
Cahill walked with confidence as she modelled the three peacock blue hats that Coles had chosen to compliment her skin tone. She told the Western Mail: “If I hadn’t have been pregnant, I wouldn’t have given doing this a second thought, I would have said yes, no problem at all. But your body changes so much when you’re having a baby that I was worried how other people would react seeing that – it scared me.
“I’m a single mum, and I’m really passionate about promoting the strength of single mums, which is why I did it. Women can do anything they want, they should be proud of their bodies and a woman in a heavily-pregnant state is the most feminine, it’s so beautiful, why should it be hidden away and covered up?”
Fellow naked model, male model Jeff Leach, sported a small black design and accessorised with nothing more than some silver rings on his fingers and his bold tattoos.
So, whatever should we expect from Coles’ future shows? The talented young hat-maker promised: “I’ve got loads of stupid ideas for next time”.
