Ashley Banjo Urges Fans To Vote Boadicea ‘For Him’
Talent Management were highly entertained by performances on last night’s ‘Got To Dance’ semi-finals, but we weren’t so impressed by Ashley Banjo’s request that the audience should vote for ‘Boadicea’, even if it were ‘just for him’.
Much as we love Ashley – the gorgeous, talented and charming leader of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winning dance group ‘Diversity’ – we can’t help but think that this request must have slipped out before he really got a chance to think it through! It’s hardly professional in a competition of this kind to suggest that fans vote for an act out of loyalty to you rather than based purely on their talents. We expect there was some wrist-slapping following the show, and if there wasn’t there surely should have been.
Having said that – despite obvious nerves at the beginning of their routine – we have to agree that ‘Boadicea’ are up there as one of our two favourite acts. The girls in the sassy dance troupe displayed a level of energy, skill and passion that was always going to get them through to the live grand finale of the show, with or without Ashley’s comments.
We also loved performances from super-cool ‘A Hoofer’s Song’ and inspirational ‘Luke’ as much as the judges – they would have been our third and forth choices to get through last night. But at the end of this week’s episode of ‘Got To Dance’ the audience made the right decision in voting to keep Talent Management’s other favourite dance act ‘Fear Of The Unknown’ in the running, regardless of advice from Adam Garcia, Kimberley Wyatt and Ashley Banjo.
Long live the audience!
