Too Many Models On Celebrity Big Brother?
Models Direct have been keeping up to date with goings on in the Celebrity Big Brother house over the last few days and as the new series comes to the end of its first week we have noticed comments popping up from viewers regarding the number of models appearing in the house.
Shortly after the show began one fan had already stated: “Don’t get me wrong, I like watching pretty girls on television as much as the next man but can’t help but feel channel 5 is desperate for viewing figures for it’s 2012 big brother show. Do you think there are too many hotties on celeb BB 2012 or have channel 5 down what they needed to get the viewers up?”
While another echoed this opinion, saying: “Far too many airhead model types in the line-up – they don’t make interesting TV.”
These comments were both made before the appearance of yet another well known model, 33-year-old Jodie Marsh – who was brought in over the weekend to lead a special body building and exercise task. Former glamour girl Marsh transformed her body last year whilst taking part in a documentary that recorded her journey. She is now due to appear in a show about bullying. Jodie Marsh – Bullied: My Secret Past will air on channel 5 later in the month. She recently said in an interview with Metro:
“I only wanted to be famous, become a model and get on TV because of the bullies at school. I wanted to be a vet and then I was bullied about my physical appearance. When I was 15, I wrote in my diary: ‘I want to be a model to prove I’m not ugly.’ I’m only 5ft 2in and couldn’t be a catwalk model, so went into glamour modelling. That’s how it started and now at 32, I can say thank you to my bullies for giving me a great career.”
Models Direct reported on Jodie Marsh’s new career choice – that of body building – back in November on the Talent Management blog (‘Jodie Marsh’s New Look – Irresponsible Or Inspirational?‘) and received a mixed response form readers.
Whatever the feeling on the amount of models appearing in the house it seems that fellow glamour model Georgia Salpa is currently the favourite for first eviction at the bookmakers having been branded as “dull” by her housemates.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson of Paddy Power is reported this week as commenting: “Georgia is very quiet so fitting in with a bunch of attention seeking celebrities was never going to be easy. She’s by far the best looking contestant in the house but unfortunately when it comes to Big Brother you need a more extrovert personality.”
So what do you think? Are there too many models on Celebrity Big Brother this year, or does the show benefit from an injection of glamour?
