Plus-Size Model Wins Ann Summers’ ‘Real Woman’ Modelling Competition
Back in November last year, Ann Summers followed in the footsteps of Ultimo and launched a ‘real woman’ modelling competition to find the new face of its Valentine’s Day campaign.
4,000 models auditioned and 10 were put through to the finals after winning over Ann Summers’ CEO, Jacqueline Gold. It was then put to a public vote.
“We set out to find the new face of Ann Summers. You voted in your thousands. You have spoken, and the results are in. The brand new face of our new brand is… Lucy Moore!”
And indeed people did vote in their thousands, with 20 year old Moore receiving an impressive 22 percent of the 30,000 votes cast. So what makes Moore the public’s favourite? Well, given that she’s the only plus-size woman to be put through to the final, we’re guessing curves are her USP, proving yet again that the public love a real and relatable model.
Lingerie lover Moore is a Criminal Justice student who entered the model search without knowing where it would take her.
The curvaceous size 16, seen above modelling Ann Summers’ Elise lingerie, told MailOnline: “At school I was the biggest girl in my group of friends, so I avoided being teased by being fun and bubbly. Now all of my course mates at university have seen me in my underwear. It’s a bit weird.”
The plus-size beauty added: “This has been one of the most exciting things to happen to me and I couldn’t believe I made it into a national modelling competition and have now won; it is beyond anything I could have imagined.
“I want to represent women with a curvier figure and show them that you can be sexy no matter what your size or shape.”
According to Ann Summers, Moore is “confident yet modest” and “strong and sexy”, and that their new face understands that sexy is not worrying about yourself and what others think about you.
The team at Models Direct all agree that Moore looks stunning in her shots, but what do you think of the winner?
