Want To Know The UK’s Busiest Christmas Shopping Day This Year?
To coincide with this year’s upcoming Clothes Show Live, over 3000 people were surveyed on their Christmas shopping habits. And, according to survey results, the UK’s busiest Christmas shopping day and time this year will be…2.40pm on December 10.
However, while the majority of Christmas shopping will take place on December 10, the survey also found that more shoppers than ever are planning on leaving their Christmas shopping to the last minute. In fact, over a quarter of those surveyed said they will be leaving their Christmas shopping until the week commencing 18 December, while one in ten people said they will leave their Christmas shopping until Christmas Eve! ‘Why?’ you ask, well it’s all in the hopes of bagging that all-important bargain of course, or is it just laziness?!
The survey also revealed that the average spend on presents for friends and family will go down this year, but that people are planning on increasing the amount of money they spend on themselves by a huge 30%!
Maryam Hamizadeh, Show Producer for the Clothes Show Live, said: “It’s interesting to discover that the majority of UK consumers will be spending less money on Christmas presents for friends and family but will be spending more on presents for themselves this year.
“With the constant news of doom and gloom in the economy it’s not surprising people want to bring a little more cheer to their lives and give themselves a Christmas treat.”
Our advice at Talent Management is to avoid 2.40pm on December 10 like the plague and instead start early. And if you’re in need of inspiration, check out Talent Management’s top Christmas Gifts For Children and Christmas Gifts For Him.
