Teen Model Karlie Kloss To Become A Victoria’s Secret Angel
Modelling employment agency Models Direct has just heard that 19 year old teen model Karlie Kloss may well be making her Victoria’s Secret catwalk début at their prestigious annual show later in the month.
Kloss is an American supermodel and ballet dancer. She trained at Caston’s Ballet Academy and has performed in ballets such as the Nutcracker during her dancing career. The young model credits her classical ballet training as having taught her how to move gracefully on the catwalk. Whatever her secret, she has certainly become big news in the modelling industry recently!
Discovered at just 13 at a charity fashion show, Kloss has since walked for designers like Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy and she has modelled in advertisements for names such as Donna Karan, Chloé, Alexander McQueen, Nina Ricci, Yves Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana. One of her more recent appearances was for Victioria’s Secret PINK and now it seems that she is set to become a fully fledged Victoria’s Secret Angel, joining the likes of Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima.
Earlier in the week Models Direct reported on the latest in luxury lingerie, including mention of the Victoria’s Secret ‘Fantasy Bra’- a $2.5 million handmade garment, which will be modelled by Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr at this year’s catwalk event. There is no doubt that becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel is big news and an achievement that many models crave. Auditions for the show took place last week and we have heard rumours that even the stunning Lily Donaldson and Jourdan Dunn appeared in front of a panel of judges hoping to take part.
Meanwhile, show director John Pfeiffer has been quoted as saying: “Just because a girl has walked before doesn’t mean she’ll walk again. Everything from their bodies to their overall look changes so we have to see them again and again. Confidence is most important. You can be the most beautiful girl in the world with a perfect body but if you don’t have that confidence and personality you’re not going to get cast. If I were going to tell a girl one thing before the casting I would tell her that she’s already here because she’s proven she should be, so be confident, smile, and have a good time.”
Despite appearing to be the ultimate body compliment, some are suggesting that modelling in lingerie and feathered wings as a Victoria’s Secret Angel could damage credibility for Karlie Kloss. What do you think? Is the Angel look tacky or tantalising?
