Earlier in the month Models Direct brought you news of teen model Karlie Kloss and her catwalk debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, but Kloss wasn’t the only new addition at the VS annual fashion show earlier in the month. Victoria’s Secret Angel newbie Elsa Hosk is the latest young model to make headlines for the brand, so we decided to find out more about her.

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show was aired on CBS on Tuesday night and Elsa Hosk has certainly had people talking since her appearance, but she is by no means new to modelling. The Swedish 23 year old has previously modelled for names like Dolce & Gabbana and Dior.

More interesting and impressive than that however, may be her sporty background.
“I was a professional basketball player in Sweden,” she recently told Fashionista.

“It’s not anything like the WNBA, I mean basketball is not that big in Sweden, but it was still very tough. We worked out probably like eight times a week, and then it was games on the weekend.”

There is some kind of reassurance in knowing that this beautiful 5’9” model has worked hard for her figure, but how do the VS Angels generally prepare for such a prestigious show?

“I think for us, we have to be in shape pretty much all the time since we’re working with lingerie,” she said. “So it’s not like ‘oh you need to lose a million pounds’, you just like need tighten up. We’re pretty much ready year round.” Despite this, even Victoria’s Secret Angels have body insecurities, Elsa went on to reveal hers: “I think my biggest thing is my butt. That’s the main thing I work on.”

When it came to the main event Hosk seemed to fit right in, and she took the prestigious Victoria’s Secret event in her stride despite the pressure that must be felt as a VS Angel:

“The funny thing is I thought I was going to be so nervous, but when I arrived there, it’s so fun backstage and everyone is screaming and dancing and I got really great advice from everybody,” she said. “Chanel told me to just have fun out there. It was awesome. You get so high from the energy. It was amazing. Like a really mind blowing experience.”
