What Has Dirty Sexy Things’ Model BB Been Up To Post-Show?
When Zaire-born model BB appeared on our screens in E4’s modelling documentary, ‘Dirty Sexy Things’, the Models Direct offices came to life with gossip about this mysterious young dancer-turned-model. No-one even seems to know his real name, but we have discovered that this gorgeous male model was given the ‘Black Beauty’ nickname by Will Young and other dancers with whom he was on tour with in 2004.
“Whilst rehearsing for the Will Young ‘04 tour, I was given the name BB by the dancers and Will,” he shares. “I was running around the studio in my underwear because they said my thigh muscles were like a horse’s and I was making horse noises so they were like ‘ooo, you’re Black Beauty’.”
Before becoming a model BB performed as a dancer and has taken to the stage with many famous artists, including Kylie, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Alexandra Burke and Justin Timberlake, but he remains endearingly down to earth, regularly tweeting to fans and friends alike on his Twitter page – @DirtySexyBB.
He has also shared beauty tips and secrets with other models, naming ‘Crème De La Mere as his favourite beauty product: “It’s expensive but it gives great results,” he explains. “I have good skin and I want to keep it that way!” He also praises Bobby Brown and Mac cosmetics and expresses a love for Dior ‘guy-liner’.
BB certainly proved popular with audiences of ‘Dirty Sexy Things’, exposing some of the highs and lows of modelling for men, but how has life been for him since the show ended? The Models Direct team has been investigating, and we can now reveal some of what this young star has been up to over the last few weeks.
On the concluding episode of ‘Dirty Sexy Things’ we saw BB decide to take a job involving his first love, dancing, in Australia. But that decision appears not to have affected his popularity within the modelling industry. BB, is also signed with a modelling agency, has appeared on the catwalk for James Small’s spring/summer 2012 collection at London Fashion Week, and for the Oxfam Festival shop at Latitude. It also seems that no matter how busy he is, Models Direct’s favourite ‘Dirty Sexy Things’ model always makes time for his social life, recently tweeting of a Vampire themed evening: “I hope your ready cause I plan on Biting a lot of necks tonight! I am THIRSTY!!!”
We can’t help being enchanted by BB. We wish him all the best for whatever the future holds and look forward to seeing more of him over the coming months.
