Models Over 30: Talent Management’s Top 3
There’s been a lot of talk around models over 30 here in the Talent Management offices of late. And so, in a bid to celebrate age, we’ve put together our top three who still rock high end catwalks, ad campaigns and editorials… all at over three decades old!
1. Stella Tenant, 40
Tenant has not only appeared in numerous advertising campaigns, including Calvin Klein, Hermès, and Vera Wang, but 2010 alone, she has done an Italian Vogue editorial, the fall Salvatore Ferragamo campaign and is a current face of Balenciaga. Impressive enough on its own, but at 40, it’s no wonder this mother of four is on the top of our list. Tennant was also recently chosen to walk the catwalk for Shiatzy Chen and Chanel, and has starred in L.K.Bennett’s new Spring Summer 10 campaign photographed by Tim Walker.
2. Gisele Bündchen, 30
Not only is this Brazilian beauty envied for being the world’s highest earning model, but Bündchen’s ability to regain her supermodel body so quickly after giving birth has brought out the green eyes in the best of us. Having taken just six and a half weeks off after giving birth to her first child, she was straight into a shoot for Colcci’s winter campaign. Shot in a convenient location in Boston, the shoot allowed Bündchen to minimise time away from her new baby, while getting back into modelling. Recently, she was quoted as saying: “I think I will never retire, I’ll be always working on something. As a model, I haven’t defined a work time.”
3. Erin O’Connor, 33
Described by the rarely complementary Karl Lagerfeld as “one of the best models in the world”, androgynous English rose O’Connor has been one of the most prominent faces of the British chain Marks and Spencer since 2005. She is known across the industry as the queen of “ugly chic” for her gamine nose and hair, and has worked on campaigns for Chanel, Givenchy, Versace, Valentino, Armani and Donna Karan. More recently she’s appeared in a Russian Harper’s Bazaar editorial, photographed by Greg Werhaeghe. Not bad for a now 33-year-old.
