But it seems US models including Chicago-born Karlie Kloss and 20 year-old New Mexico girl Arizona Muse are set to bring back American beauties big time.
Could Arizona Muse Be America’s Next Big Model?
Well we at Talent Management think so, and Anna Wintour agrees.
Models dominating editorials with their chic and edgy international look, such as Australian Abbey Lee Kershaw, Russian Sasha Pivovarova, Polish Anja Rubik and Danish Freja Beha Erichsen, are leaving little room for American models of late.
But it seems US models including Chicago-born Karlie Kloss and New Mexico girl Arizona Muse are set to bring back American beauties big time.
Even American Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour has labelled Muse a “breakout star”.
In her February 2011 editors’ letter, Wintour said Muse was “the breakout star at the Spring 2011 shows last Fall”.
She added: “When I look at Arizona, I see shades of Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova, but most of all, I see her, a gorgeous, smart grown-up. And how could anyone resist someone with that name?”
We at Talent Management couldn’t agree more; with a quirky name, and quirky look – we love those eyebrows – we think Muse is destined for great things ahead.
Not that she hasn’t already amazed us all with an impressive list of modelling jobs to date – walking for Marc Jacobs, Hervé Léger, Narciso Rodriguez and Proenza Schouler; becoming the face of Yves Saint Laurent’s and Prada’s spring/summer 2011 campaigns; and appearing as Vogue Italia’s cover girl this month, to name a few.
