Calvin Klein is doing something rarely ever seen from high profile fashion houses; a fashion TV commercial.
Marking the first ever TV commercial for a Calvin Klein Collection, the ad features face of the brand, Lara Stone, alongside Texas-born Tyson Ballou.
The ad was directed by Fabien Baron, a man known for designing high profile and often controversial ad campaigns for many leading names in fashion, including that infamous Secret Obsession ad, which was banned from US television.
This time around, the ad is a little less risqué, but still shows Stone looking stunning as ever in various scenarios with Ballou, all of which were filmed in La Jolla, California.
Apparently, the ad has 15-, 30-, 60- and 90-second spots and will make its grand appearance on TV during pre-Golden Globes red carpet coverage this Sunday.
Tom Murry, President and Chief Executive Officer of Calvin Klein, commented on the ad’s usability and long shelf life: “We feel it has a fairly extensive shelf life and we can run it again this year, or next year. This is an iconic Calvin product.
“We can run it in Milan or in Tokyo, or around a store-opening event, for instance. It really has multiple usages.”
We at Talent Management have to agree and are already tempted to buy into the ‘Calvin Klein lifestyle’ portrayed so elegantly by Stone and Ballou in the ad.
