We all knew we’d be seeing a lot of Lady Gaga in Thierry Mugler ever since her stylist, Nicola Formichetti, was confirmed as the new Creative Director of the fashion house. But Talent Management didn’t expect to see the pop star involved in the design process.
Earlier in the week, we told you that Formichetti announced Gaga as “musical director” for the Thierry Mugler show, which took place yesterday in Paris. That news wasn’t too surprising, given Gaga’s musical talents. But now it’s been revealed that Gaga will play an active role in the designing as well.
“It’s me and her just having fun and getting very inspired from the idea of Mugler. She’s very much involved, more in the early stages,” he told WWD, referring to Thierry Mugler’s womenswear line, which will debut in March.
Formichetti also revealed that he has created custom-made Mugler costumes for Gaga.
Expect to see her wearing them in the upcoming album’s artwork, music videos and media appearances.
“I want people to think, ‘OK, there’s something new happening.’ I want people to get excited again, not only fashion people,” he said.
So keep your eyes peeled for outfits designed to excite – the team at Talent Management sure will be.
