YUKO Mayfair Salon & Academy, a company that specialises in Japanese hair straightening, recently came to Models Direct looking for two female models with natural non-highlighted hair to front promotional images for their hair products, including a new product that YUKO is releasing this autumn.

Our long haired model Hayley, aged 22, and short haired model Martina, aged 26, were both selected for the job.

On the day of the shoot, which was at a photography studio in Brixton, the girls had to come prepared to get a cut and natural colour, and arrive on set with their hair as natural as possible.

In the studio, YUKO’s makeup artist/stylist, photographer and 3 hair stylists got to work on creating natural yet stylish looks.

For Martina, YUKO cut her hair into a shoulder length bob, while Hayley’s length was kept as long as possible with a colour gloss added to tone her hair.

Both of the girls were then given 3 different looks, some with pin straight hair and some with wavy hair.

YUKO directed the girls, explaining that they were looking for shots that looked like effortless portraits, without looking too posed or modelled.
